Governors

Welcome to our Governors’ section

The Governors of Kintbury St Mary’s C of E Primary are part of the leadership of the school who, together with the Head teacher and other senior staff, ensure there is a clear Christian vision, ethos and strategic direction for the school. Governors play a vital role in constructively monitoring and challenging the school’s work to evidence effectiveness aligned with the School’s vision. This in turn ensures that all children can achieve their very best.

Governors achieve this through regular meetings of the Full Governing Board and other committees including finance and staff pay.

In addition, individual Governors and Governor working parties are responsible for different subject areas and projects and where possible, they make visits to the school to meet with staff, parents and pupils. In this way, the Governing Board has a clear understanding of how the school operates and can ensure that the school fulfils not only its statutory requirements but also continually develops and improves.

Our Governing Board is comprised of school staff and volunteers, made up of parents, members of the local community, and representatives from the Local Authority and Kintbury St Mary’s Church who can bring diverse and relevant skills to successfully support the school.

Following reconstitution of our Governing Board in July 2015, in line with national legislation, we now have a board of 12 Governors who form a cohesive and effective team. All Governors, as volunteers, are offered training to ensure that we are able to fulfil our roles and responsibilities.

You can find out more about our Governors, our working structures, meetings and attendance data, and the evaluation of impact of our governance below.
